M5 Operative – Central & East London (Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham, Barking & Dagenham)
Self-Employed, CIS | Day: £140 | Night: £165 | Weekend: £170 | Weekly Pay
Take the lead on complex, high-impact TM schemes in the heart of London. As an M5 operative, you’ll manage urban closures, multi-phase signals, and major event deployments to the highest ARTSM and Code of Practice standards.
Your Role:
- Plan, install, and remove advanced TM layouts, including multi-lane closures and pedestrian management in high-density areas
- Operate and troubleshoot Pike and SRL signals, ensuring compliance and minimal disruption
- Lead teams, mentor junior staff, and act as site supervisor
- Ensure every job meets ARTSM and Red Book requirements for signage, lighting, guarding, and accessibility
- Hold and maintain an in-date Occupational Health (Safety Critical Medical) certificate
- Strict adherence to Boyle Highways TM’s drug and alcohol policy—pre-induction and random testing is mandatory
You’ll Need:
- UK driver’s licence (21+, max 6 points) – Company van provided
- M5 (LANTRA 12D) qualification (smart card)
- In-date Occupational Health (Safety Critical Medical) certificate
- Willingness to undergo and pass drug & alcohol testing (zero-tolerance)
- Smart phone for web app compliance
